Play in a Day Camp: "How to Get Away with a Murder Mystery"

Get ready for a whirlwind day of theater fun with our Play in a Day Camp! Under the direction of Laura Baltz, students will tackle Don Zolidis’ hilarious play, How to Get Away with a Murder Mystery.

Here’s How It Works:
After submitting your virtual audition a few weeks before camp*, you’ll arrive at Marian University Theater at 9:30 a.m., lines already memorized. From there, it’s full speed ahead! You’ll rehearse all day with a cast of fewer than 20 students, receiving individualized attention and a professional-level stage experience to prepare you for any theater challenge. The day wraps up with a performance at 4:00 p.m., where family and friends can enjoy the results of your hard work.

About the Show:
Five mysterious, color-coded guests. A secluded mansion. A murder. Who’s the culprit, and how can they get away with it? Or more importantly, how will the sleuths uncover the truth? Told in clever vignettes, this show hilariously skewers classic murder mystery tropes—think airtight alibis, long-winded detectives with accents, and outrageously elaborate murder devices. It’s a fast-paced, side-splitting take on the genre that will keep the audience laughing!

Audition Information:
Monologue samples will be provided, but you can also use your own! We’ve included helpful video tips, and we’re always here to assist. It’s just a quick, one-minute audition, and everyone gets a role, so no stress!

We can’t wait to see you for this exciting day of theater.

Please note:
There are no refunds for summer camps.
